Atomic Habits and a Yearlong Journey

I recently finished "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, so instead of results-based goals this year, my resolutions are focused on the habits and systems that will get me there. So, instead of having a goal of reading X number of books, my goal is to read thirty minutes every day.

Instead of getting down to X pounds, I'll exercise thirty minutes and/or get in my 10,000 steps every day.

Instead of a generic "become a better writer" goal, I'll write a haiku every day reflecting on what transpired.

I'll be intentional about acts of kindness, looking for beauty in the world around me, and learning something new each day.

I even designed my own planner centered around ideas from the book to help remind me of my goals every single day. Here's to hoping that these atomic habits will lead to atomic results, but even if they don't, it'll be a fun little experiment anyway.

What matters is whether your habits are putting you on the path towards success. You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than your correct results.
